Who is Nick?

Nick was born in Toronto Canada in 1978 and at very young age he moved to Greece were he stayed there until the age of 27. He began to play guitar at the age of 18. Very quickly he became passionate about the instrument.

After high school, Nick studied Land Surveying Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where he graduated with a master’s degree in 2004.

He began his music journey taking private lessons by a famous jazz & fusion guitar player Sakis Zachariades (myspace.com/zachariades). Sakis is a masterful jazz improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between rock, fusion, and modern jazz. He started guitar while at high school and from 1993, Sakis studied at Musicians Institute of Los Angeles. He has also been awarded three times for composing and improvising at the “Makemusic Contest” 2004, 2005 and the "Music Powered By Technology 2004" contest.

Nick’s passion for guitar led him to a greater search into music and therefore he became a student of the Conservatoire of Kamalaria in Greece for studying at the same time both electric guitar and Music Harmony. The Music Harmony study included a wider spectrum of the music (music composing, piano, dictee, solfege, music history, choire). He graduated in 2005.

He has joined several bands playing a lot of different styles: from rock, blues, pop, jazz, gospel and a bit of heavy metal. His music influence varies from Jimmy Hendrix, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Gary Moore, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Santana, B.B. King, Steve Ray Vaughan, Queen, Anouk and the list goes on and on….

While in Greece, Nick also worked next to great luthier Kostas Doukas (tseliosmusic.gr). He gained a lot of experience in calibrating guitars and repairs, like setting the right heights of strings and pick-ups, polishing and aligning frets, intonation, fretboard curviness etc..

Nick moved to Netherlands in 2005 were he has directly joined a rock/blues/pop band named “Unchained”.

Nick is currently giving electric/acoustic guitar lessons and repairing guitars in his home studio. Feel free to contact for a free introduction talk.
